Use the form below for any inquiries. If you have a product that belongs on Grumpy Capy, a correction to something published, a collaboration idea, or just a question, this is the place.
The tone can stay casual. The details should not. If there is a deadline, product link, publication name, or relevant context, include it up front so the capy does not need to guess.
What to include, by topic
The topic dropdown routes nothing automatically — it just tells us how to read the message. What actually saves a round trip is the detail you put in with it.
- Correction or feedback
The page URL and the specific line you think is wrong. A source beats an assertion — if there's a statute, agency page, or study that contradicts us, link it. This is the topic we act on fastest.
- Pitch or submission
What the piece is, why it fits a capybara site specifically, and one or two lines of you. If it's a press release, say which outlet and when the embargo lifts.
- Affiliate or product inquiry
A product link, the price, and what makes it different from the forty other capybara versions of the same thing. Curation is the whole point of the shop archives, so "it exists" is not an argument for including it.
- Collaboration
What you're proposing, what you'd want from us, and what's in it for a reader. Vague "let's explore synergies" notes get read last.
Corrections
A lot of this site makes checkable claims — what a state's administrative code says, how long capybaras live, whether a particular zoo actually has them. Those claims come from primary sources where primary sources exist, and the source list at the bottom of a guide is there so you can check the work rather than take our word for it.
When something is wrong, we'd rather hear it than not. Tell us the page and the line. If the claim turns out to be wrong, we fix the page, fix the underlying source, and say what changed rather than quietly editing it. If a story only ever had one source and that source turns out to be thin, we say that on the page instead of dressing it up.
No paid guest posts, no paid link insertions into existing articles, no "we'll update your old post for a fee" arrangements, and no sponsored do-follow links. These pitches arrive weekly and the answer does not change, so writing to ask will only cost you the email. Editorial placement is not for sale here.
Pick the closest topic and leave the rest in the message. Short is fine. Clear is better.
Response times
This is a small operation, not a newsroom with a duty desk. Corrections get looked at first, then press with a stated deadline, then everything else. Most messages get a reply within a week; some don't get one at all, usually because the answer was already no. Nothing here is monitored overnight or on weekends.
For press or media inquiries, include your publication and deadline in the message. If you need something quotable, say so — we'd rather give you an on-the-record line than have the site paraphrased from a screenshot.
Grumpy Capy is published and operated by Data Sauna LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. More on who runs the site, how sources get checked, and how AI imagery is used and labelled is on the about page.
