Europe's capybara cafe is a burger bar on Avinguda del Paral·lel with plushies on the shelves and a Doble Kapy Smash on the menu. There is no animal, because in Europe there never is.
The only capybara-branded venue in Europe we can confirm, and it sells burgers.
What it is
A smash-burger bar in Eixample with capybaras as the whole visual identity — giant plush capybaras on the benches by the door, more on the shelves, and a menu that names a burger after them. The food is the actual draw; reviewers talk about the burgers and the sangria far more than the theme.
There are no live animals, and unlike a couple of entries in this directory nobody has ever implied there might be. It is a bar that likes capybaras.
What visitors actually say
Pulled from Google Maps, trimmed, and left alone otherwise — including the
complaints. We do not take the ratings as gospel and neither should you.

Why this is the whole European list
We searched for a capybara cafe in Europe in English, Spanish, Polish and German, and swept Google Maps over Barcelona, Warsaw and Kraków. There is no cafe anywhere in Europe with live capybaras. There is one project trying — in Norfolk — and it has no planning permission and five animal welfare organisations lined up against it.
So if you are in Europe and want the animal rather than the branding, the answer is a zoo encounter. The UK has six of them and Zoo Berlin runs one. They are all in the zoos section here.
Good to know
No live capybaras. Nowhere in Europe has them in a cafe.
It is a burger bar, not a coffee shop. Opens 12:30.
Around €10-20 a head, walk-in, no booking.
Watch for the giant plush capybaras on the benches by the entrance — that is the landmark.

FAQ
Are there real capybaras at KAPYBAR@?
No. It is a capybara-themed burger bar. There is no cafe anywhere in Europe with live capybaras — for the animal you need a zoo encounter, and the UK has most of them.
What should I order?
The smash burgers are what the reviews are actually about. The Doble Kapy Smash is the house one.
Do I need to book?
No. It runs as a normal walk-in bar and restaurant from 12:30.
Details change – always confirm hours, prices, and booking on the official site before you travel. Animal encounters are subject to each venue's welfare rules.

A family restaurant in Querétaro that announced Mexico's first live-capybara sessions, got publicly taken apart for it, and appears to have quietly not done it. The food is fine. The story is the point.
