A hay farm that happens to have capybaras, which turns out to be the cheapest way to spend real time with one in Florida.
What the session is
Forty-five minutes, private to your group, covering playtime, feeding and up-close petting, with the rest of the farm's animals thrown in — baby bunnies, goats, Scottish Highlanders. Coffee is complimentary, which is the detail that puts this on a cafe list at all.
It is not a cafe. There is no counter, no menu, no drinks list. But the format is closer to the capybara cafe experience than most of the zoo encounters on this site, because the time is yours, the group is yours, and nobody is moving you along after fifteen minutes.
The price is the story
Fifty-five dollars a head, under-threes free, and a two-person minimum per slot. Compare that against $85 at Jungle Island for a shorter session, or $530 at Nurtured by Nature in California, and the value is obvious.
The minimum matters if you are travelling alone — you are paying $110 for the slot either way. Bring someone, or accept the maths.

Getting there, and the pumpkin thing
Mount Dora is about forty minutes north of Orlando, which makes this a realistic half-day off the theme-park circuit. Daily 11:00 to 17:00, last slot at 16:15, year-round.
In September and October they run "Pumpkins with Pumpkin" group events on Saturdays at $25 a head. Cheaper, but it is a group event rather than a private session, so the trade is price against having the capybara to yourselves.
